Anthony Cocco – Personal Change, Growth & Healing

The bottom line about your existence!

ACIM Quote nothing real...          1.       There is only ‘one’ Source,   Mind, called God. There cannot be another apart from that.

         2.       You and every ‘one’ else emerged or appeared from the ‘One’ Mind.

         3.       You appear to be a separate individual with your own autonomy, this is an illusion, (you are dreaming of separation) you have forgotten who and what you really are and have not woken yet.

4.       When you see another you are seeing an aspect of your own mind, plus all the meanings, beliefs and feelings you have associated with it.

5.       The ‘whole’ world is in your mind and out there is like a movie screen; you project the images from your mind out onto it and then react as if they are real.

6.       When you love another you are loving a part of your own mind.

7.       When you hate someone or something you are hating a ‘thought’ or part of your own mind.

8.       When you have anger or attack thoughts towards another you are only really attacking your own mind and therefore the only one you are really hurting is ‘you’.

9.       Before you see another, you see an impression of them in your own mind, plus all the associated thoughts, beliefs, and feelings first, you do not see who they ‘really’ are, you see who you ‘think’ they are based on ‘past’ impressions.

10.   When you are reacting as if another is attacking you in some way, you are really reacting to a thought or belief you hold in your mind about yourself and what it means, this thought has a feeling associated with it and has nothing to do with ‘reality’, because it’s happening in your own mind, only.

11.   The original belief in separation from ‘Oneness’ engendered fear and guilt, before that they did not exist and only exist now as a belief.

12.   Thoughts, beliefs and perceptions are temporary and changeable; Reality is eternal and endures through all changes in time.

13.   ‘Oneness’ is your natural state of mind and being, maintaining the belief or illusion of separation entails great strain and effort.

14.   Eventually all will awaken to the awareness of ‘Oneness’.

Finding Your True Purpose

Child praying causes miraclesThere is a saying that says, ‘Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, but teach him to fish and he will feed himself and his family for Life’.

Today many people are looking for their purpose in life and are engaged in trivial and temporary activities as they try one thing and another without finding lasting peace, happiness or fulfilment. In one sense whatever you believe it to be and that whatever is in front of you in the present moment is your purpose. In time however your real or true purpose will reveal itself as it becomes obvious and self evident. This is the way of the unfolding mind, the soul’s purpose and the maturing of humanity.

It’s rather like a child growing up and giving up childish things as it outgrows its toys, it happens naturally and in the right time, space and sequence and this is determined by the individual himself.

There is an individual curriculum for every human soul to awaken to his true self when the time is ripe, it cannot be forced just as a flower can only grow according to its own nature , the same is true for a human soul also.

So what is it that he awakens too? He eventually awakens to the realization of his ‘True Self’ which is apart from who he ‘thought ‘ and ‘believed’ he was, for example in this life he thinks he is a body that grows, becomes a man or woman, engages in all the activities that he is taught such as going to work, paying for necessities, becoming a parent, contributing to society, church, country, paying taxes and playing all the other roles that are expected of him or her, otherwise he may be deemed a failure as this world defines it.

However his true self is not of this world, his true self has desires and interests beyond these temporary, limiting self concepts and beliefs of this world. His true self is interested in his eternal nature and reality. His true self wants to know itself as part of God, as Spirit and what it means to live and express itself as a divine spirit being in a physical world, and that is something very different from what he has been taught by this world.

The true self wants to fulfil its divine plan for itself, the world and as God conceived of for him. This is the work that never ends and in Gods Kingdom there is no unemployment. The Bible says ‘seek ye first the Kingdom of God and all else will be added unto you’, this means that when you put God and Spirit first as a way of life everything else will be taken care of.                                                                                                                                                                                                   Practice this every day and you will find that your purpose is taken care of and you will naturally contribute to the world, your community, friends and family, you will unfold the gifts and qualities of the spirit, you become the change you want to see in the world and your life naturally becomes peaceful, happy, harmonious, joyful and fulfilling, because then you become a ‘blessing’ to the world by your presence.

In Spiritualism we have an advantage because we have the opportunity to learn how to communicate with the spirit world and give evidence that life continues after the transition called death, we can also use that same ability to listen and receive inner guidance from spirit guides, masters, and angels etc.

As we commit ourselves consistently to the practice of putting God and spirit first and following our inner guidance everything starts to be taken care of in the best possible way for everyone; Perceived problems become  resolved and you go through a process of transformation and awakening, (this can also be likened to the ascension process), your confidence in spirit and yourself grows and you see the world in a new light,  you start to remember  who you really are, your true relationship with God and your Oneness with your fellow man is transformed as you see him for who he really is, this is what it means in the 7 principles as the,  Father Hood of God,  the Brother Hood of man and accepting Personal Responsibility for this is how you find, discover and live your True Purpose.
